E-bikes are everywhere. In Amsterdam, London, Toronto, and hundreds of cities in between, the shift to electric micro-mobility is no longer a trend — it's the new normal. But as adoption accelerates, a quieter problem is growing alongside it: where do all those batteries charge safely?

Hallways. Stairwells. The back of a delivery depot. These are the places where e-bike batteries are charging right now — without fire suppression, without monitoring, and without any clear ownership of the risk. Deadly battery fires make headlines with troubling regularity. Property managers know it's a liability. Fleet operators know it costs them uptime. But until now, the infrastructure to fix it simply wasn't accessible at scale.

PowerShelter was built to turn this chaos into a managed, professional standard. Now, we are scaling that mission.

Introducing the PowerShelter Partner Program

We've officially launched our Partner Program, a select network of distributors and infrastructure providers bringing fire-safe e-bike charging to properties and facilities across North America and Europe. We're proud to share the full story directly, following today's feature in Zag Daily.

This isn't a volume play. We're looking for the right partners in the right markets — operators who already understand their local landscape and are ready to offer their clients a professional-grade solution to a real and growing problem.

"When we started PowerShelter, we chose to build an open system — one not tied to a single brand or fleet. The Partner Program is the natural evolution of that vision. It allows us to work with trusted local experts to provide a product that solves the daily risks their clients face." — Jake De Wulf, Co-Founder & CCO

Meet Our Launch Partners

Monashee Racks (Canada): Specialists in premium bike parking and storage infrastructure, Monashee Racks is our first partner to bring PowerShelter to the North American market. Their first orders are already being processed, signaling the high demand for safety-first infrastructure in the region.

Signature Electric (Canada): With forty years of EV infrastructure experience, Signature Electric brings technical depth to the commercial and residential sectors. They serve as both strategic advisors and installers for complex charging needs. Look for PowerShelter alongside Signature Electric at the EV & Charge Expo this April.

Fleet Charge Facilities (Netherlands): Our European anchor partner, Fleet Charge Facilities, is a leader in sustainable mobility. As the Netherlands is the global benchmark for cycling culture, establishing our presence here with a specialized partner was a priority.

"We see that demand is broadening further, from electric cars to e-bikes and other light electric vehicles. With PowerShelter, we are adding a specialized solution that perfectly complements our existing services. This enables us to offer clients a complete and professional range of e-mobility solutions." — Henk Gijssen, Co-owner, Fleet Charge Facilities

At a Glance: Solving the E-Bike Charging Gap

PowerShelter provides the infrastructure backbone for the e-mobility revolution, offering fire-safe e-bike charging lockers designed to mitigate lithium-ion battery risks for:

  • Property Managers seeking to reduce fire liability and insurance premiums

  • Fleet Operators looking to maximize courier uptime and operational safety

  • Municipal and Urban Planners building compliant, future-ready mobility infrastructure

To bring this standard to the global stage, we are moving beyond individual installations to a scalable infrastructure ecosystem.

Why E-Mobility Infrastructure Can’t Wait

Cities like New York and Vancouver are already feeling the pressure from insurance providers and updated building codes. London fire services responded to over 200 e-bike incidents in the last year alone.

Formal regulation is no longer a distant possibility—it is arriving now. In Europe, the EPBD IV (Energy Performance of Buildings Directive) is setting new mandates for charging infrastructure that property owners must address to remain compliant and insurable. Read our full breakdown on EPBD IV and insurance compliance here.

The businesses that act early will be positioned as leaders, whereas those who wait will be left scrambling to catch up. Whether it is a courier in Amsterdam or a resident in a Vancouver condo, fire-safe charging should be the default, not the exception.

"This program isn't about volume, it's about finding the right partners in the right markets. The people joining us at launch understand that safe charging infrastructure is a responsibility, not just a product category. That shared mindset is what's going to make this work." — Brett Bouthillier, Co-Founder & CEO

The PowerShelter Standard

We provide the hardware that makes safety simple. From luxury hotel properties to high-volume delivery hubs, our systems are designed to minimize risk while maximizing uptime.

  • SmartShelter: A connected, fire-safe system featuring proactive incident detection (H2, CO2, and CO sensors), integrated fire suppression, and EV-grade mica lining. Access is handled via touchscreen, app, or badge.

  • CoreShelter: A weatherproof outdoor locker designed for reliability and physical security. It offers the same passive propagation protection as our connected models, with simplified RFID or PIN access for sites that require safety without additional software complexity.

Both systems are brand-agnostic. We believe safety shouldn't depend on which bike you ride.

What's Next

We are currently finalizing additional partnerships across North America and Europe. If you are a distributor, installer, or infrastructure provider who shares our vision of professional-grade e-bike charging infrastructure, we'd love to talk.
