Safe E-Bike Battery Charging
We're making e-bike charging safe for riders and the places they go.
You can help build trust with riders while safeguarding the people and places they visit. The right infrastructure is essential for promoting the adoption of healthier and more sustainable transportation. That's why we've designed our e-bike battery charging lockers to be safe for buildings and people, and convenient and reliable for riders.
Be prepared
Protect against the risk of lithium-ion battery fires and thermal runaway.
All our lockers are made from fire-resistant hot-dip galvanized sheet metal, proven to provide 30 minutes of fire containment. Our fire safety system includes automated fire extinguishers and WiFi-enabled heat detectors, working together to contain and report fires immediately. This crucial system provides vital time for fire crews to arrive and fully extinguish any blaze.
Worry-free
Remove fear of theft and range anxiety.
Many riders worry about their bike battery being stolen, while others are limited by when and where they can charge. Our lockers eliminate these concerns. Each compartment is equipped with outlets for both battery and USB-C charging, ensuring that batteries and devices are protected, charged, and ready for wherever riders choose to go.
Secure access
Choose the right locks for any business or location.
All our lockers can be customized to meet the needs of both riders and businesses. Whether through intuitive PIN code access, RFID readers for staff badges, or API-enabled integrated locks, we can install the locking system your location requires. This ensures batteries and belongings are safe while making locker use as simple as possible for everyone.
New regulations may soon require safe e-bike battery charging across the EU.
While there are currently no regulations in place for the storage of e-bike batteries, new guidelines are being developed across Europe by both the European Commission and national and regional governments. New laws have already taken effect in the U.S.
It's a good idea to check with your insurance company, as they might enforce stricter standards than local or national regulations.
IN THE EUROPEAN UNION
The recent EU Declaration on Cycling, set to influence policy of all 27 member states, includes eight references to the need for e-bike battery charging infrastructure.
Additionally, changes to the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive have been proposed. Currently under consideration by the European Commission and EU Parliament, this proposal would require all residential and commercial buildings to provide safe e-bike battery charging.
IN THE NETHERLANDS
The Dutch Publication Series on Dangerous Substances, also known as PGS, is currently developing the upcoming PGS 37-2 guidelines to ensure the secure storage of lithium-ion batteries. Until the new guideline is released, the existing EN 14470-1 standard, designed for the storage of flammable substances and chemicals, is in use.
